Childlight

Childlight Limited is a UK registered charity (number 1039099) that has existed in its current legal form since 1994. An earlier Childlight Foundation was established to promote Charlotte Mason based education as a result of the widespread interest generated by the publication of For the Children's Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay (1984, Crossways Books). Childlight's activities over the past 25 years have included publishing as well as speaking at and organising conferences. Other important titles have included When Children Love to Learn: A Practical Application of Charlotte Mason's Philosophy for Today, edited by Elaine Cooper (2004, Crossways Books).

In September 2007 Childlight founded a school in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Heritage School is a model school that seeks to demonstrate and advocate a more humane vision of education, one inspired by the principles and educational methods first put forward by Charlotte Mason and the PNEU (Parent's National Education Union) which she founded in the late 19th century.
